Did You Know?
In 2016, we burst onto the scene and announced our presence without any real warning! Here are a few little bits and pieces about our team and our authors.
The crow on our label is a hand-shadow. Why not get someone to take a picture of you trying it yourself and send it across to us?
As well as our popular book blog, we have a blog here, which means that you can keep up to date with all the goings-on at Crowvus. Luckily, the authors are happy to write blog posts. Well, we say they're happy - they don't complain, anyway!
Everything apart from the actual printing is done "in house". Once one of the authors passes on a final draft, we go through the editing process with them (this takes months) and then do final proof-reading. We design a cover and then send the book to a Reader, who is selected based on their interests and knowledge of literature and language. Then, once all final comments and suggestions have been taken on board, we send the book to the printers and wait for that exciting parcel to come through the post!
Lord Byron - a great poet with a "questionable moral compass".
"If a story is in you, it has to come out."
- William Faulkner
We have a broad range of interests when it comes to books. Our first publication, Day's Dying Glory by Virginia Crow, is a historical fiction novel. In 2018, we'll be publishing our first non-fiction book, a memoir of mid-twentieth century rural England by another of our authors. For more information on our upcoming books, see here!
